Oklahoma vs. Cincinatti

Football...I thought I'd seen it all in college football...until Cincinatti.  So what is it, Bearcats?  Do you want to make the opposing team's fans so incredibly miserable that they never even want to set foot in your city again?  It started off fine...some very nice Cincinnati fans to begin with, walking into the stadium.  A friendly couple took a picture of all four of us.  We make our way up to the nosebleed section, which was where Cincinatti stuck us since we had to buy from them b/c they gave the Sooner fans so few tickets.  The music was so LOUD we could hardly hear each other speak.  We thought it was unusual to be playing such heavy rap and hip hop music at a football game, but we also thought that would just be pre-game.  But NOOOO, every time the Sooners got the ball they'd crank up that music so we could never hear our Boomer Sooner song, we couldn't hear the commentator, we couldn't hear anything but that deafining, awful music.  Newsflash...this is COLLEGE ball!  Half the fun of college football is hearing the bands play...you know, atmosphere! I wish you could have heard the sound they blared out every time a third down came around or we got near the goal line...Seriously?  This was dirty football at it's lowest...they'd facemask, clip, hit from behind, hit after the play was over, taunt, you name it, and not get called.  Okay, so you say, hometown advantage...but this was low.  It's true, our Sooners made so many mistakes...penalty after penalty...but I can't imagine what they were dealing with down there.  The fans were so rude [and we were completely surrounded by them]...but we yelled louder than ever!  Some of the fans threw peanuts at Sooner fans all through the game to harrass them.  We pulled out the win, but I have never been so stressed in my life!  Way to go, Sooners...a win on the road in a hostile environment like this is awesome!

Mom and Dad - super Sooner fans

At this point, Cincinatti people were friendly....uhhh...that didn't last long

Lots of construction on the Red's Stadium

Comaraderie among Sooner fans who were joking with mom and dad

All the fans filing in

The Bearcat at the Stadium...and boy, were they out for Bear

The stadium at around 5:30...we thought there weren't going
to be very many Cincinnati fans...we were wrong!

Boomer Sooner!  But let me tell you...we couldn't even hear our Sooners because of their intimidation music

Sooners coming on to the field to warm up...did they know this would be such a hostile crowd?

warm ups...

and more warm ups...

and even more warm ups

The stadium, pre game...there wasn't an empty seat by 6:00
