Wisdom

Verses for the day: Hebrews 4:12,13
  • 12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
A Morsel from today's 'My Utmost For His Highest':

The first thing God does is get us grounded on strong reality and truth. He does this until our cares for ourselves individually have been brought into submission to His way for the purpose of His redemption. Why shouldn’t we experience heartbreak? Through those doorways God is opening up ways of fellowship with His Son. Most of us collapse at the first grip of pain. We sit down at the door of God’s purpose and enter a slow death through self-pity. And all the so-called Christian sympathy of others helps us to our deathbed. But God will not. He comes with the grip of the pierced hand of His Son, as if to say, "Enter into fellowship with Me; arise and shine." If God can accomplish His purposes in this world through a broken heart, then why not thank Him for breaking yours?

My Thoughts: He cares intimately for us! He has used intense heartbreak in my life to slow me down, make me see life much more clearly, give me deeper purpose, show me what is important, and bless me in so many unexpected ways.

  1. Mom, thank you for sharing this! What Mr. Chambers said is true-- it's like what Paul says in Philippians 3, "...that I may know Christ and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead." Paul is seeking eternal life, our ultimate redemption. It is so difficult to have the correct attitude while suffering. But ultimately, even when we don't, Christ did! He died the perfect death, suffered the ultimate horror and pain, submitting perfectly. And THAT is the record of righteousness that He pleads before the Father on our behalf. Thank you for reminding me of this again today :)
    Love you mom!
